Welcome Friends and Family!

Thanks for visiting our wedding site/blog.  Now that the wedding is over we will be putting up photos and mementos from our honeymoon and the big day.

We want to share as much of the wedding as we can with everyone who couldn't to make it to Durham, so this blog will hopefully be the next best thing!

Thanks again to everyone who shared well-wishes and love for us.  We've never felt so special and loved as we did on that day and we have all of our friends and family to thank.

P.S.
If you've stumbled on our blog from the wedding blog world you're welcome to take a look around, we don't mind :)

and at some point I'll be getting all of the gently used and left-over wedding supplies together and putting them up for sale so check back if you might be in the market for wedding-y things.  I'd really hate to just toss it all so we're trying to reduce, reuse, recycle!

We're Back!

We just got back from the honeymoon and are totally exhausted.  The wedding was wonderful, I had no idea just how amazing everything (and everyone) would be.  Thanks to all of our family and friends who came together to make the day special, it's really something we'll cherish forever.

It'll be a while until the photographer gets us our photos so until then I'll go backwards and share our honeymoon photos first.  There's so much to share about the honeymoon and wedding details, the blog is good so I don't talk any one of you guys' ears off all day.  I can just put a little entry in every couple of days instead :)

Sunday, April 5

The morning after the wedding we woke up early so we could make it to the airport in time for our flight to Cancun.  Of course we were hungry and didn't have time for breakfast so we grabbed up a leftover slice of wedding cake for the road.  It hit the spot nicely.

The cake was great, especially since in all the whirlwind of the wedding I forgot to eat a piece!

We got to the airport on time and made our way to the gate.  As per our airport tradition we split a Popeye's chicken biscuit, I know it sounds weird but the one in the airport's the only Popeye's in town and we both have fond memories of it growing up.

Waiting to board our flight, tickets and passports in hand.

Doing some last minute reading up on the Riviera Maya.

The flight to Cancun was only around 3 hours, so it went by quickly.  The heat and humidity was apparent the minute they opened the doors of the plane to welcome us to Mexico!

This is the first time we ever marked anything as "married"!

We grabbed our bags and headed through immigration at the airport.  The visa application was the first thing we ever had to report our marriage status on so of course we took a photo.  We're casado!

More to come!
